A beneficiary should be person or entity that stands to incur serious financial harm if you were to pass away. This could be a spouse, parent, sibling, children, business partner. A beneficiary can also be an estate or other entity, such as a will or trust. It's possible to name more than one beneficiary. It is important to identify your beneficiaries as clearly as possible so we can reach them.
To change your beneficiary, please call us at (415) 915-0665 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will first need to verify 2 pieces of identification to ensure that you are the owner of the policy. From there we will assist you with updating your current beneficiary(s).

A claim may not be paid out if underwriting find that parts of the application were not answered truthfully or if the claim is the result of suicide in the first two years of the policy being in force.
During the first 30 days of your coverage, you are fully covered and can adjust your coverage amount and term length, or cancel for a full refund. After this period, you can decrease your coverage amount anytime during your term. If you need to increase your coverage or change your term length, you may need to re-apply. Our team will help you cancel your current policy and activate the new one. Or, you can choose to keep both policies existing side by side.
Ethos term policies are guaranteed renewable to age 95! So when your coverage term ends you have the option to renew your policy until you reach the age of 95 without having to go through underwriting.
If you miss a payment, you will have a 30-day grace period to add a new payment method (or 60 days in CA). During this period, your coverage is still active.
To reinstate your policy, simply update your payment method and you'll be charged the 1 or 2 missing premiums.
Once it's been 60 days since your last payment, your policy will lapse and you will no longer be able to reinstate it.
The listed beneficiary must be the one to complete all claim requirements in order to receive the benefit amount, however the initial notification of the claim does not have to come from the beneficiary.
